Happy Birthday!!

To me...:)

Yesterday was my birthday and no, I'm not saying how old I am...:)

I have no idea what to tell people to get me. I have plenty of clothes. My half of the walk-in is full as well as the huge closet in the fourth bedroom. I'm not really a jewelry person either. I have my wedding ring, a mother's ring, and a locket and that's pretty much it. I have all the stuff I need or want for my house, so tell people what to get me is tough.

So for the last several years, instead of buying me things, dh and the kids have taken me places. One year we spent 4 days at Disney. One year we went to the beach. One year to Gatlinburg. I had a really bad cold the days leading up to my birthday, so this year we just went out to eat.

Lunch at Dave and Busters. That place is always fun. Especially when you make a fool out of yourself because your 14 and 7 year old outrace you on a video game. I'm the only one out of the two of them that drive, yet they both out-drifted me. My 7 year old, outdrifted me. Do you have any idea how sad that is??

But on the flip side, do you know how hard it is to drift on a video game??

I know how to drift in theory, but that's not how you do it in the game. I guess I just don't speak video...

You know what else is sad? Hubby got $150 worth of stuff at the Bass Pro shop in preparation for the fishing tournament he's doing in March. My daughter got a build-a-bear and my son got some books at B&N. What did I get? Nothing...:(

I didn't really see anything. Everything is designed for skinny people. I'm not a size six anymore.... How about some clothes for normal people??

Not too many stores were having clearance sales, which actually surprised me. I haven't been to the mall since before christmas, but if you listen to the news, stores are giving stuff away. Well, not in Nashville. I think Nashville must have missed that memo.

The Big Dogs store, which my boys love, was going out of business last October. It's still open and still going out of business. Interesting....

Anyway. That's how I spent my birthday. Playing skeeball and battling aliens and zombies and of course racing with my kids. It was a great family day and a wonderful birthday present. I like brithdays like those...:)
