I come from a long line of vets. My grandfather was an Army vet, my father, an Airforce vet and my husband, a Navy vet.

I got to see it this weekend. Nice...:)


Christian Bale was good as John Connor, but for some reason, I actually liked Marcus's character better played by Sam Worthington.

For those that haven't seen it yet, I won't divulge too much about that one. I had read up on the movie and knew what was coming, but for those who didn't, it will be a surprise.


As for Christian, I think he made a good John Connor, but the way he lowers his voice to make it more gravelly just sounds more stupid than menacing or sexy or however it is he's trying to make it sound.


Special affects were great but what impressed me most was the fact they kept to the original story line as told by Reece in the original Terminator, right down to the scar on Connor's face in the original.


I had a hard time with Kate, since she was played by someone other than who played her in the third movie, Rise of the Machines. She went from a blond vet to a brunette medical doctor and we won't even talk about how it looked as though her character became younger as opposed to older...:( I hate it when they do that.


Over all, it was a great movie, great special effects and we even got to see a few seconds of the Governator, thanks to some computerized effects...:) Can't do Terminator without the Governator...:) Should have been the real one, though. Arnold my not be Oscar material, but he's definitely a better actor than he is a governor....just saying...:)

This author is a master who always delivers a fresh, delightful, and emotional story that is well crafted and brimming with intense and deliciously daring characters along with a plot that has devilish twists and turns along with humor to delight her fans. Blood Rite is a sizzling story that will play on reader's fantasies, transporting them to the paranormal world of vampires and shifters who sexually heat up the pages. Each scene is very tightly written with the author leaving no small detail unexplained in her drive to entertain the reader. The characters are complex and intriguing and the author does a delightful job of delving deeply into each hero and the heroine until they are open books for the reader to be able to understand and enjoy them. The secondary characters works well by not only moving the story along but to helping add dimension to the main characters. The dialog rings true with some witty and snappy banter that will have the reader laughing in delight. This story is filled with graphic and divinely smoking-hot sexual tension and kinky escapades in the bedroom, garden, and the terrace that create a stunning romp between two men who want to completely posses their woman for an eternity. The final fight with good triumphing over evil is explosive and wildly riveting and will have the reader holding their breath as the tension and mayhem runs wild.

Trista Ann Michaels is an author who continues to delight her fans by delivering a scorching and memorable story no matter what genre she writing in. I can't wait to see what this amazing author comes up with next.

Adventerous day

My kids and I decided to go hiking today, so we got up early and headed to Laurel Falls in the smokey mountains. It's a 1.3 mile hike, mostly uphill. Check out this drop off. No wonder they have signs posted along the way that say falling deaths have occurred. Well duh. It's 60 feet or more straight down.Here's the hike upward, along the trail. It was a gorgeous day. Pretty blue skies and big white puffy clouds. Most of the trail was in the shade, though...:)

After the hike, we were hungry, so we decided to head into Gatlinburg and eat lunch. After lunch, we took a trip to the top of the space needle. My daughter handles heights much better than me, which is why she's up there and I'm back here taking the shot...lol But check out those puffy clouds...:)

On the way back, we stopped at the creek to get our feet wet and met up with a couple of kiackers. Now that looks like fun.

But let me tell ya, that water is ice cold...lol.

Another great captive review

Sidious and Mikayla's attraction is instantaneous and beyond hot. Mikayla tries so hard to be strong when she is miserable at her predicament. She doesn't want to fall for Sidious - she doesn't trust him - and why should she? He is a kidnapper and won't allow her to return home. All is not what it seems in this engaging novel. But one thing is certain. Trista Ann Michaels has a winner on her hands because CAPTIVE is alluring and suspenseful. No longer will I have to wonder how the ENTWINED FATES series came to be. Now I have the story, and I plan on reading it often!

First review for Captive

I received my first review for Captive. Thanks so much to Steph from Bookaholics romance book club for such a great one.

I love futuristic romances. And this is a delicious tale that is sure to satisfy anyone’s palate. Trista Ann Michaels slowly and expertly brings the reader into a new world full of: intrigue, betrayal and deception. In addition, to the fantastic world building she takes the time for the reader to really understand and love her characters.

This was a fabulous novel from start to end. I was immediately drawn to the characters and the storyline. It reminded me of a great space opera with very sensual love scenes. The author does not insult the reader with trite or simplistic storylines. Even though the story is a futuristic it felt very realistic. I can only hope this author will continue the series?! Sidious’s brothers Stefan and Taron are equally fascinating. My favorite part of this story were the strong characters. I fell in love with the hero Sidious and wished he were real. Sidious is an extremely noble and self-sacrificing character that is ALL man ladies! He was one of the best heroes I’ve read in a long time. Mikayla is a fun and feisty heroine. I was fascinated by her struggle to reconcile her attraction to Sidious and her beliefs. This was an exciting story that transported me into a new world that I found exhilarating and mesmerizing. Trista Ann Michaels has made a new fan!

Jimmy Thomas photo shoot

I didn't have much of an opportunity to talk about the photo shoot last week, so I thought I'd take a little time and talk about it now.

As a writer, I often look at my covers and wonder how they're done. At the Romantic Times convention this year, Cover Model, Jimmy Thomas, www.jimmythomas.com came in to demonstrate just how to do them.

To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the workshop and didn't really come prepared with the right lense. My lense didn't get close enough, but some of the shots came out great despite the distance and once I crop and zoom, they should really be great. Once the session started, I was glad I went.

They did everything from historical, to cowboy, to a very sexy silk sheet session that made every girl in there want to yank that brunette from the bed and take her place...lol. It certainly got hot in that room and of course, I just couldn't keep my mouth shut and said, "I want to know how to get her job."

Jimmy laughed and the shoot came to an end. Guess I should have kept quiet...:)



Not only is Jimmy gorgeous, but he has a great sense of humor that had us all giggling through most of it. But it was also obvious just how professional he is, which would explain why he's on so many romance covers.

If he does this again next year, and I'm hoping he does, it's most definately something you don't want to skip--or be without a camera. You get to play photographer, have fun and learn alot in the process.

The only thing missing from this shoot is the swashbuckling pirate. I mean, after all...what girl doesn't love a pirate...:)
